Tuesday the fifth of February 2019, the long-awaited dream of Corendon CEO Atilay Uslu came true. At 10:00 PM the start signal was given, and the transport of a real Boeing 747 from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to the Corendon Village Hotel Amsterdam hotel garden began. It's journey started in a hangar in Schiphol Airport and ended in its final resting place, the hotel garden in Badhoevedorp. This last journey was a big operation. The in total weighing 150 tons vehicle had to cross sixteen trenches, a provincial road and the A9 highway. This moment was recorded and live-streamed by Heuvelman.
Such a large operation needs careful planning and preparing. Transport giant Mammoet was asked to take the lead in this unique and exciting project. Their biggest challenge was maneuvering the 60 meters wide vehicle into the 51 meters wide hotel garden: a shortage of at least 9 meters. The live stream was watched by thousands, anxiously following these moments.
Corendon came with an offer many couldn't refuse. Corendon Hotels & Resorts offered for a selected group to follow the project from a control room in the hotel. The meeting rooms were connected and the in total five projection screens offered the guests real-time information about the Boeing 747, the live stream and GPS location.
Unfortunately, Corendon could not offer everyone the opportunity to watch the transport up close or from the control room. To make sure everyone could still enjoy this historical moment, Heuvelman set up a live stream. Thousands watched when the vehicle crossed the A9 highway and ran over trenches. Many witnessed the final journey of the Boeing 747.
Heuvelman is incredibly proud to have been part of this project. Are you looking for an audiovisual partner for a unique event? Contact us, we're happy to help.
