The official opening of Keukenhof in Lisse led to a fleeting start of spring 2017. The Keukenhof is, with more than seven million bulbs in bloom and 800 varieties of tulips, the most beautiful spring garden in the world. The opening was all about the new entrance building and the main theme of Keukenhof 2017: ‘Dutch Design’. Heuvelman once again had the honour to provide audiovisual support for the festivities.
This year, the park was fully inspired on the work of renowned Dutch designers. Creative director of architect bureau Mecanoo, Francine Houben, opened the new entrance building of the park. Dutch Design Award winning Crisien Meindertsma played a main role during the opening ceremony. Two days after the opening, the Keukenhof opened her doors for the public for the 68th time. In eight weeks, the spring garden showed the Dutch floriculture. The Keukenhof is closed at the moment. It will open again in 2018.
Heuvelman provided a total audiovisual solution for the official opening concerning vision, light, sound, rigging and stages. In addition, camera-registration resulted in live content that was displayed on two projection screens. Because of the international crowd, a translation system was used.
Zdenka Fieggen, event manager at Keukenhof: “Heuvelman is a partner that comes with creative solutions to make our events visually more attractive. Their practical way of thinking makes the operation more effective. They take a proactive role. In addition, they move along with the by us requested flexibility. Working already six years with the same contact person results in an easy way of communication. In short: a very pleasant yet high quality cooperation.”
